What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

In multiplayer freestyle battle, when either player dies, there is supposed to be a respawn animation where your character switches between opaque and transparent a few times. This still happens sometimes, but other times, your character will be replaced with the other player's character for the duration of the animation, or your player will be a 2D image of either player for the duration of the animation. It appears that this 2D image is the view of the player at the time of respawn

What steps will reproduce the problem?

From the main menu, select Multiplayer > Freestyle Battle > select characters
Unlimited time was selected, but this likely didn't have an effect
While playing, if either player dies and respawns, there is a good chance that the issue will appear

Which versions of Dolphin did you test on? Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which versions of Dolphin used to work?

5.0-1845
OpenGL backend

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,

Looks like more ARAM-DMA stuff.

Assigning to phire so he can weigh in and see if he sees anything in the video that's suspicious, but it looks just like the incorrect rigs. Can you see if any older builds worked correctly? Can you see if this happens on console?

I found out that I accidentally had texture cache set to safe instead of the default fast. The issue shows up in both 5.0-1845 and 5.0, but only when texture cache is set to safe. Also, I think the bug might be triggered by both players dying at around the same time.

It's likely a dualcore timing issue. I could not reproduce on netplay or single core.

If you can get it to reproduce on single core I can reopen.
