Description

Game Name?
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle

Game ID?
GSNE8P

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.
On 4.0-4239, 3980, 3850:
Dolphin has consistent random issues in the Metal Harbor level. Sometimes, the entire program just closes "windows has found a problem". Sometimes I get constant "invalid read at 0x6368a9b9, PC 0x80071680" and "invalid range in CopyFromEmu. 20 bytes from 0xc2339f20" type errors, then the graphics freeze and music either keeps playing or is stuck playing the same thing over and over, or the whole program just closes. Once I got a GFX FIFO unknown opcode error right before the crash. I have tried to play the level 15 times, crashed every time.

On 4.0-3711, 3516, 3100
Level still crashes often but I was able to complete the level once every 3-5 attempts. I have only gotten "dolphin.exe has stopped working" on these versions, none of the "invalid read" and "invalid range" error pop ups. The error does not happen as quickly as on 4.0-4239.

What did you expect to happen instead?
The level does not crash on 4.0.2. It definitely runs slower, but it does not crash.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.1P Play->Story->Hero
2.Play game until you reach stage 4, Metal Harbor
3.Play level. I have not been able to get halfway through without it crashing on 4.0-4239.
4.The crashes happen at random times. It's not a specific part of the level that causes the crash. Here are some places it happens most often: 1. Falling into the water causes it very often, but not always. 2. Jump down from the platform where the ring dash upgrade is, through the little tower where you are brought up there and the graphics glitch. Do it several times, and it will crash. 3. Just playing the level normally, it usually crashes before you finish it.

Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
4.0-4239
4.0-3980
4.0-3516
4.0-3100
4.0-842,1349,2591,2877 could not test. Game has black screen, but I can hear audio.

Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?
4.0.2

What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)
Windows 8.1, Core i5-4200M with Intel HD4600. OpenGL graphics backend.

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)
I don't know how to take logs. I open view->show log but the window stays blank.

I checked on my game and it works fine. Sounds like you're having other issues; maybe with the Intel HD4600 drivers being iffy at best. Could you try the D3D backend? Could you try updating your drivers?

My drivers are up to date. I just checked D3D and it works perfect. OpenGL still crashes. Here is a crappy video showing a couple of crashes (mute the audio towards the end if you don't want to go deaf): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jx9W6xlTqp4

It's very, very likely an Intel HD driver bug then.

Can you try the latest dev build as of this writing?

I tried 4.0-4652 and it still happens in OGL.

New Intel HD drivers were released that fix some of the bugs.
