Description

Game Name?
Call of Duty:Black OPS

Game ID? (right click the game in the game list, properties, info tab)
SC7E52

MD5 Hash? (right click the game in the game list, properties, info tab, MD5 Hash: Compute)
5b024902cbefd639ee4eebcf3c3bb5e4 (WBFS image, unclear it that effects this calc)

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.
Subtle flaws can be seen with text rendering, where the leftmost pixels of some character seem to be transposed 4-5 character to the right. This may be related to similar off by one pixel rendering issues seen in other titles like Blaster Master Overdrive.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Start the game. observe initial "Loading..." text

Which versions of Dolphin did you test on? Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which versions of Dolphin used to work?
4.0-8076

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)
Intel 960, NVIDIA 580, Windows 10

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)

Is there a build where this issue doesn't happen that you know of?

Not that I'm aware of, though perhaps the few builds that included the standard fonts (though unclear that should effect Wii vs GC titles).

I have a feeling this is likely more closely related to other off by one pixel sprite rendering problems seen in many titles, such as Blaster Master Overdrive and the Peach's Castle demo.

Have you considered that maybe it's an issue with the free font we use vs the IPL font? See Starfox Assault.

I had considered it per the comment about it above, but: a) I had thought that only effected GameCube titles and b) I have extracted font_ansi.bin and font_sjis.bin from a GC ROM which are included in my Dolphin install.

Is there some other process to extract/get Wii related fonts?

  • Status changed from New to Accepted

Looks like this is probably a valid bug based on what you said about having the official fonts.

This is probably fixed by using Manual Texture Sampling.

  • Status changed from Accepted to Fixed

Cannot reproduce the issue, assuming fixed. Does not need manual texture sampling.
